I. General Information, Cost
Art Trip Havana Thursday, May 21 – Monday May, 25, 2015
Hostess: Cuban-born Nina Menocal, art collector and Director-owner of galeria nina menocal
Price for high class specialized art trip: $4,800.00 USD per person for Single occupancy and $4,500.00 USD per person for Double occupancy.
Payment Schedule: $1,000.00 USD for Registration Deposit per person, by November 28th, 2014. Non-refundable. Balance to be paid by FEBRUARY 2ND, 2015.
Money transfer: Wiring instructions upon registration.
Legal permits for U.S. citizens to travel to Cuba will be in order (please contact us right away for your License)

II. How To Purchase Art Directly From Artists
1. Ninart-Havana offers direct negotiations between collectors and artists! Client and artist agree on the price.
2. Ninart-Havana charges the collector a 10% commission for any art bought at artist studios or any other space or institution in Havana.
3. The collector will receive from the Nina Menocal gallery, Mexico City: invoice, authenticity certificate and documentation on the artist and artwork. A document from an international gallery enhances the value of art works.
4. Ninart-Havana obtains legal export permits for all artworks at an official cost of 25 CUCS (convertible currency or official Cuban currency, equal to $30 USD approx) for each permit, which includes up to 5 pieces IF THEY ARE from the same artist.
5. The collector is required to leave a down payment for artworks bought, and will pay the Nina Menocal gallery in full after the trip is over.
6. Transportation of works from Havana to Mexico City will be arranged through Ninart-Havana; the cost depends on volume and weight of each package, it is very reasonable. The client pays for airfreight and insurance. Crating of works is courtesy from Nina Menocal gallery. Transportation of works from Mexico City to another country will be arranged by Nina Menocal gallery according to instructions from the collector, who pays for expenses. Crating will again be courtesy of the gallery.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION
Ninart-Havana (n-h) 2015 is a project of Nina Menocal gallery. These Terms and Conditions of Participation are a guide to the client (“Guest”) concerning his, her participation in the 18th Edition Ninart-Havana (“Art Trip n-h”). N-H reserves the right, at any time, without notice, to issue additional conditions or regulations for participation in the Art Trip or to alter art trip hours or logistical arrangements.
Art Trip Dates and Air Tickets
Program: May21 – 25, 2015
(If any Guest arrives earlier or stay further from the Art Trip dates, he or she will pay for extra costs, such as hotel room and all day expenses which include meals, ground transportation, etc.). All extra costs owed to nina menocal gallery and/or Art Trip n-h must be paid before Guest is allowed to register in Hotel upon arrival
Art Trip Cancellation Penalties
All cancellations made after February 2nd, 2015, will be subject to a penalty of 100% and all other costs, which may have been incurred by n-h in connection with this Art Trip n-h.
If Guest cancels prior to February 2nd, 2015, he will forfeit all deposits paid to Art Trip n-h
Management and Responsibilities
In all matters relating to the making of the arrangements for hotel accommodations, entertainment or shows and transportation by air, bus, or automobile, Art Trip n-h (nina menocal gallery, Mexico City and its staff or representatives in Havana), will act only in the capacity of intermediary and can assume no responsibility and cannot be held liable for any personal injury with regard to carriers, hotels, suppliers and all other related services. Art Trip n-h will not be responsible for any property damage, or other loss, accident, delay, inconvenience or irregularity which may be occasioned either by reason of (1) any wrongful or negligent acts or omissions on the part of any of the suppliers (2) any wrongful, negligent or unauthorized acts or omissions on the part of any employee of any of these suppliers (3) any wrongful, negligent or unauthorized acts or omissions on the part of any vehicle, equipment or instrumentality owned, operated or otherwise used by any of these suppliers
Insurance Indemnification and Exemption from Liability
Each Guest is recommended to obtain travel liability insurance coverage for damage or loss to persons or property due to fire, theft, burglary, breakage and the risks of transport of artwork and other materials from the art trip. In any event, Guest assumes all risk of loss related thereto
The final itinerary of the Art Trip n-h will be planned after February 2nd, 2015, but may be subject to change without notice. All optional activities will be suggested but not paid by ninart-havana, such as nightclubs, ballet performances and shows. The client will pay all ground transportation outside of what is stated in the itinerary. Also planned at this time are the final documents: General Information, Purchasing conditions, Costs, (what ninart-havana offers and includes and what it does not included). These Documents will be sent before the trip to all Guests who have applied to Art Trip n-h
Art Trip n-h will attend Guest during duration of the whole itinerary; every detail of art trip has been considered and there is a team of Hosts, Nina Menocal and her staff: curator, operations director, and extra taxi driver who will accompany bus or van at all times. However, Guest recognizes that by participating in the Art trip n-h, he and she assume security risks that cannot be eliminated by n-h’s security service.
To maintain security, no passports of any Guests can be removed from their rooms during their stay in Havana; no money more than is needed daily should be taken out of the Hotel security boxes, until the day of departure, when down payments can be left directly with n-h staff
Shipping Art Works
All art works bought should be left in Havana with the n-h staff, so that Art Trip n-h can ship the art to Mexico City with exportation permits and required crating.
Shipping art works from Cuba to Mexico City and further to final destinations will be coordinated by Art Trip n-h and paid by Guest. Once Guest receives art works he or she must open the package(s) to verify their condition. Art Trip n-h will not be responsible for any claim made 7 working days after receipt of art works. Claims must be accompanied by images of damage suffered by artwork transportation
Guest is responsible for payment of airport tax requirements and exportation permits, as required by n-h costs and purchasing of art documents
Art Trip n-h is entitled in the case of compelling reasons (including terrorist activity) or Acts of God to cancel, postpone, shorten or extend the Art Trip. Art Trip n-h shall not incur any liability whatsoever in the event of cancellation the art trip
